Google’s Laszlo Bock (SOM ’99) is Making Work Better

Laszlo Bock (SOM ’99) recently appeared on the latest edition of NPR’s Hidden Brain podcast to speak about Google’s philosophy on hiring, retaining, and motiving its workforce.  As the Senior Vice President of Human Operations  (just a Google-y way of saying “Human Resources”), Bock oversees 62,000 employees at the tech giant, dealing with the daily challenges—and rewards—that arise from Google’s doctrine of employee autonomy.  You can listen to the full discussion here.

Bock’s interview comes on the heals of another Yalie on Hidden Brain, Professor Amy Wrzesniewski.  She is a professor of Organizational Behavior at the Yale School of Management and appeared on the podcast’s March 29th edition for a discussion titled “How to Build a Better Job“.
